Love’s Not Bulletproof

Some connections hold a kind of magic you don’t fully understand until you’re looking back at them. That’s what this song grew out of — a love that was real, deep, and rare… and the painful awareness of how fragile even the strongest bond can be.

With my ex-wife, there were moments that felt like fate — moments where it seemed like we had survived too much, supported each other through too many storms, for anything to ever break us. We had a history that carried both joy and devastation, and through all of it she stood beside me with a kind of loyalty and tenderness that left a mark on my life.

But in relationships, especially when life gets heavy, it’s easy to assume the other person is unshakeable. Easy to believe they’ll always stay, always wait, always keep carrying the weight with you. And sometimes you don’t see the pressure on their shoulders until it’s too late.
You miss the quiet signals.
You overlook the exhaustion in their eyes.
You forget that love needs to be fed, not just felt.

Love’s Not Bulletproof came from that realization — that even the most beautiful love can fracture if it’s taken for granted. Not out of disrespect, not out of carelessness, but simply because you believe it’s strong enough to withstand anything… until one day you discover it wasn’t.
