Lyrics
American Divide
[Verse 1]
There’s a crack in the mirror, it’s fading fast, Truth got lost in the aftermath. Everybody’s talking, but no one hears, Drowning in the noise, tangled in fear.
[Pre-Chorus]
Oh, the flags still wave but the colors blur, Both sides swear that they know the cure. But the ground is shaking, breaking apart, How much more before we lose our hearts?
[Chorus]
We’re stuck in the shadows, love’s getting cold, Running in circles, losing control. The needle’s spinning, don’t know which way, Fighting for tomorrow while we waste today. Tell me now, where do we go? When the truth gets lost in the TV glow?
[Verse 2]
Screens keep flashing, the fire won’t die, Every promise just another alibi. The ones in charge, they play their game, Selling us stories, shifting the blame.
[Pre-Chorus]
Oh, the walls keep growing, the trust runs thin, Every handshake feels like a game to win. We’ve dug these trenches deep and wide, But how do we get to the other side?
[Chorus]
We’re stuck in the shadows, love’s getting cold, Running in circles, losing control. The needle’s spinning, don’t know which way, Fighting for tomorrow while we waste today. Tell me now, where do we go? When the truth gets lost in the TV glow?
[Bridge]
But the stars still shine, yeah, they’re looking down, Through all this noise, there’s a peaceful sound. If we break it all, what’s left behind? A pile of ashes, or a chance to rise?
Maybe the answer’s not so loud, Maybe it’s in reaching out. A quiet word when the shouting’s done, A house divided can still be one.
[Outro]
There’s a crack in the mirror, but it’s not the end, We just need the will to try again. The road’s still rough, but it’s open wide, For a house united, side by side. Yeah, side by side.

American Divide
“I wrote American Divide because I’ve watched this country slip deeper into a kind of division that feels heavier than anything I’ve seen in my lifetime. Everywhere you look — the news, social media, conversations at dinner tables — people are shouting past each other instead of listening. Everyone thinks they’re right, no one feels heard, and the truth gets lost somewhere in the noise.
This song came from that feeling of standing in the middle, watching both sides dig deeper trenches while the country I love starts to crack down the center. It isn’t about choosing a side — it’s about acknowledging what’s happening and asking how we got here… and more importantly, how we get back to each other.
American Divide is my way of saying that underneath the arguments and the outrage, most of us want the same basic things: respect, safety, fairness, kindness, and a future we can believe in. The song is a reminder that a house divided doesn’t have to stay divided — but it’s going to take listening, humility, and a little more heart than what we’re showing right now.
It’s not a political anthem.
It’s a human one.”
