Unconditionally
[Verse 1]
Gave you my mornings, gave you my nights
Tried to be perfect, but it don’t feel right
I keep changing, keep rearranging
But somehow, I still don’t fit in your life
[Verse 2]
I hide the parts you don’t wanna see
But I can’t be him if it means losing me
[Chorus]
Why can’t I be enough?
Why’s loving me so tough?
I’m chasing a version that you want me to be
But I’m breaking inside, trying to live this lie
I just wanna feel your love unconditionally
[Verse 3]
You say you need someone who’s flawless and bright
But I’m only human, I can’t fake the light
Jumping through hoops, walking on glass
Giving my all, but I’m coming in last
[Verse 4]
I built us a home, but you call it a phase
How can we stand when you keep looking away?
[Chorus]
Why can’t I be enough?
Why’s loving me so tough?
I’m chasing a version that you want me to be
But I’m breaking inside, trying to live this lie
I just wanna feel your love unconditionally
[Bridge]
Love ain’t a contract, love ain’t a test
I need the real thing, not second best
You want a picture, but I’m something real
I need love that lets me feel
[Chorus]
Why can’t I be enough?
Why’s loving me so tough?
I’m chasing a version that you want me to be
But I’m breaking inside, trying to live this lie
I just wanna feel your love unconditionally
[Outro]
So take me as I am, or just let me go
I’ve walked this tightrope too long to not know
Love isn’t love if it comes with demands
I need someone to hold me with open hands.

Unconditionally
There comes a point in your life when you start to notice a painful pattern — you give everything you have in relationships, you show up, you bend, you try, you adjust… and somehow it still never feels like enough. That realization is what pushed this song out of me.
I’d been in relationships where I poured in my whole heart — mornings, nights, energy, patience, hope — only to feel like I was being quietly reshaped into someone else’s idea of “worthy.” I found myself hiding parts of who I was, swallowing my truth, shrinking pieces of myself just to keep the peace. And the more I tried to earn love, the further away it felt.
That exhaustion… that heartbreak of realizing you’re being loved conditionally — only when you’re perfect, calm, convenient, or exactly what someone wants you to be — that’s the root of Unconditionally.
It came from the feeling of being demoralized after trying so hard for so long, only to hit the same wall over and over:
the quiet truth that if someone doesn’t love you freely,
you can’t force it by disappearing piece by piece.
Writing this song was my way of reclaiming something.
It was me finally saying:
“I’m done performing.
I’m done proving.
If someone can’t love me as I am,
then they’re not my person.”
Unconditionally is the line in the sand — the moment you finally choose yourself after years of trying to be chosen.
